PDFirma

Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how PDFirma handles information when you use the PDFirma macOS application.

Effective date: March 13, 2026
Owner: Mario Alfonso Medina Macias

Overview

PDFirma is designed to prepare, sign, and validate PDF documents on macOS using certificates available on the user's device. PDFirma is intended to work primarily on-device.

Information We Collect

PDFirma does not create user accounts and does not intentionally collect personal data for storage on our own servers.

How Documents and Certificates Are Used

When you use PDFirma, selected PDF documents and digital certificate identities may be accessed locally to prepare and apply digital signatures, verify signatures, and display signing or validation information.

Network Requests

Depending on the certificate and signing workflow, PDFirma may connect to third-party trust infrastructure services such as:

These requests are made to support digital signature validation and long-term validation workflows. The availability and behavior of these services depend on certificate issuers and external providers.

Data Sharing

PDFirma does not sell personal information and does not share user data with data brokers. However, technical signing or validation requests may be sent to third-party certificate or timestamp infrastructure when required by the signing process.

Data Retention

PDFirma does not maintain a central user database. Documents and signed outputs remain on the user's device or in locations explicitly chosen by the user. Any retention of files is controlled by the user.

Security

PDFirma is built to rely on native macOS security mechanisms, including sandboxing and Apple security frameworks, where applicable. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but reasonable efforts are made to reduce risk within the app's design.

Children's Privacy

PDFirma is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your Choices

You control which documents you open, where you save output files, which certificates you use, and whether you proceed with signing operations. You may stop using the app at any time.

Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. If material changes are made, the updated version will be published at this URL with a revised effective date.
